Celebrations

 


 

Kalolsavam (07/03/22 to 12/02/23)

Mahatma Gandhi University Kalolsavam for the year 2023 was held at Maharajas College Ernakulam. The prior screening was done by the college union and the best students were sent for the Kalolsavam. More than 40 students participated in the Kalolsavam events and many secured A grade in the competition.

 


Christmas Celebration (22/12/22)

Christmas celebration was conducted in the silt campus by the college union. Many games were arranged got students. Hod along with teachers cut the cake as part of the celebration. Carol competitions and crib-making competitions were held. Everyone enjoyed the day.


Magazine cover page release (20/12/22)

Coverpage release for the 2022-2023 college union has been held. The cover page release was done by 2 cleaning staff of SILT Mrs. Omana and Mrs. Vidhu. The function was conducted in the college auditorium. 


Farewell (16/12/22)

A Farewell program has been arranged for the senior passing out students by their juniors by the initiative of the students’ union. All the senior students shared their memorable moments in the silt. Different videos and photographs were arranged for the seniors to make them happy and special.


Football quiz(14/12/22)

A football-related quiz was conducted in the campus for all the students during the time of FIFA World Cup 2022. The questions were purely based on football games. Many attended the quiz and one winner got selected.


 

Human rights day (10/12/22)

On the human rights day department and students’ union arranged an online seminar session relating to human rights and former justice K T Thomas delivered his notes on the “law of presumptions related to human rights. Teachers and students joined the meeting.


Constitution Day celebration and debate club inauguration(30/11/22)

On November 30th constitution day celebration and debate club were inaugurated. The debate club was inaugurated by the respected Kottayam district collector Dr. P K Jayasree. Constitution-based lectures were also been done on that day. Winners of moot court competition were also appreciated in that function.


Group Discussion (25/11/22)

A group discussion for the students is held by the college union as part of the constitution week celebrations. The discussion was on “Timely changes in the constitution and upcoming changes”. Several students participated and shared their views in this respect.


Quiz Competition and Essay writing competition (23/11-22 and 24/11/22)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Quiz competitions were held by the students union as part of the constitution week celebration. Teachers hosted the program and made it a success. Questions relating to Constitution were asked in the quiz. And finally, one team got the golden win.

Essay writing competitions were held on November 23rd as part of the constitution week celebration. Various students attended the competition. Different views of students were expressed in that. The best among those were chosen.


ADALAT (11/11/22)

As part of V R Krishna Iyer legal Aid clinic, the college arranged an Adalat for the local communities and people residing in nearby locations to tackle their problems that are of a legal nature. Students surveyed and analysed the problems and the Adalat was conducted on the college premises on November 11th, 2022.


 
First semester student from School of Indian Legal Thought – *Nivedhitha P.B* – was adjudged the Best Speaker for Petitioner in the 1st Virtual National Moot Court Competition held by the Marwadi Univeristy Faculty of Law, Gujarat. Nivedhitha, along with her team members *Angel Rose Robin* and  *Vasudev Menon* secured the fourth position in the Competition. There were a total of 53 teams and our students faced the competition winners in the semi-final round. Proud moment for SILT!!! Congratulations to all the three students!!!
Congratulations JENY AUGUSTINE and MINNU BRIDGIT SEBASTIAN , VIII th  semester BBA LL.B (hons) students of School of Indian Legal Thought Mahatma Gandhi University for securing second prize in the NATIONAL ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION 2020 organised by AMITY LAW SCHOOL JAIPUR.
