Dr.Gigi P.V is working as Associate Professor in School of Indian Legal Thought, M.G University, Kottayam. She did her LL.M from School of Legal Studies, Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi  with specialization of Criminal Law and Administrative Law. Awarded Ph.D. by Mahatma Gandhi University in the topic Law and Medical Negligence in 2012. She is actively involved in teaching since 1997 and joined the School as permanent faculty member in 2001.Her areas of interest are Environmental Law, Law of Local Self Government, Health Care Law and Consumer Law . She is the visiting faculty of Kerala Institute of Local Authority and also the member of Sthree Jagratha Samathi which is the basic body of  Kerala Women’s Commission.  She is the author of two books.  She has 18 research publications in reputed Journals.  She has presented 30 papers in various national and international seminars and also participated as an invited speaker in 15 training and orientation programme.
