Internship

Definition

‘Internship period’ means a minimum period of 20 weeks which a student has to undergo during the entire period of legal studies under NGO, Trial and Appellate Advocates, Judiciary, Legal Regulatory Authorities, Legislatures and Parliament, other Legal Functionaries, Law
Firms, Companies, Local Self Government Institutions and such other bodies where law is practiced either in action or in dispute resolution or in management. Provided that internship in any year cannot be for a continuous period of more than four weeks at a time and all students
shall have done at least one internship in the entire academic period with trial and appellate advocates. Each student shall keep an internship record as prescribed by the School and the same shall be evaluated by panel of teachers constituted by the School. The internship carries 4 credits with 100 marks and will be added along with the marks of tenth-semester examination.

Marks and Credits

  • The internship course shall be spread throughout the programme and will be assessed at the tenth semester. The internship will be of 100 marks and of 4 credits.

Professional Ethics and Professional Accounting System

Internship assessment shall be according to the following Norms:

  • Marks for production of all the certificates of Internship – 30 Marks
  • Record of Internship – 60 marks
  • Viva – 10 Marks
  • The Viva shall be conducted by the course teacher.
