5 Year BBA. LLB (Hons.) Course

Structure and Duration

The-B.B.A.,LL.B-(Hons.) Course shall be of five years duration consisting of ten semesters. Each semester shall consist of six papers. The total number of papers in the course shall include, among other additional papers and papers in the B.B.A component, twenty Compulsory papers, six Optional papers; four papers on Practical Training and eight Honours papers, carrying hundred marks each, as prescribed by the Bar Council of India. There shall also be a Project and a Viva-voce examination in the tenth semester of the course.

Number of Seats:
The number of students to be admitted to the course shall be limited to thirty

Eligibility:
A candidate who has passed the Higher Secondary or Plus Two examination recognized by the Mahatma Gandhi University or any other examination recognized as equivalent there to and has secured not less than fifty percent of the marks in the aggregate in such examinations shall be eligible to be considered for admission. For SC/ST candidates, the minimum mark required is forty five percent in the aggregate.

Age Limit:
The candidate should be below twenty years of age as on Ist July of the year concerned. There will be one year relaxation in the case of SC/ST candidates.

Admission:
Admission to the course will be made from the rank-list prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in the entrance test conducted by the School. Every candidate selected for admission will be interviewed by the Director of the School before granting admission. The Admissions will be made subject to the Reservation Rules followed in the University.

Entrance Test:
The test shall be of two hours duration carrying hundred marks. The entrance test is intended to test the general knowledge, logical reasoning, language skills etc.

3 Year LL.B Course (4 PM – 9 PM )

Structure and Duration:
The LL.B course shall be of three years duration consisting of six semesters. Each semester shall consist of six papers. The total number of papers in the course shall include, among other additional papers, twenty compulsory papers, six optional papers and four papers on practical training, carrying hundred marks each as prescribed by the Bar council of India. The timing of the LL.B course shall be from 4 PM to 9 PM on all working days including Saturday. However the timing during the Sixth Semester of the course shall be from 10 AM to 5 PM on all working days.

Number of Seats:
The number of students admitted to the course shall be limited to Fifty.

Eligibility:
A candidate seeking admission should be a graduate of Mahatma Gandhi University or of any other University recognized equivalent there to by the Mahatma Gandhi University. The minimum marks required is 45% in aggregate. The candidates who are employed shall produce supporting documents to prove the nature of employment or profession and a No Objection Certificate from the employer. For SC/ST candidates the minimum marks required is 40% in the aggregate.

All candidates including those who are employed shall give a written undertaking at the time of admission to the effect that they would abide by the timing of the course as provided in clause(1) above failing which they will not be able to complete the course.

LL.M Course(Credit and Semester System)

Structure and Duration:
The LL.M course shall be of two years duration, consisting of four semesters, and shall follow Credit and Semester System (CSS)

Specializations:
Specialisations offered for LL.M course shall be as follows (subject to modifications)
Branch I – Human Rights LawBranch II – Criminal LawBranch III – Constitutional and Administrative Law
Number of Seats
Number of students to be admitted in each Branch shall be limited to 10

Eligibility:
A candidate who has passed the LL.B Examination of the Mahatma Gandhi University or of any other University recognized as equivalent thereto and has secured not less than 55% of the marks in the aggregate shall be eligible to be considered for admission. For SC/ST candidates, the minimum marks required is 50% in the aggregate.

Admission:
Admission to the course shall be made on the basis of the performance at the qualifying examination and the result of All India Common Admission Test(CAT). The ranking of the candidate for the purpose of admission will be made as per Mahatma Gandhi University notification in this regard.
The reservation rules if any followed in the University will be applicable.
