11) 5 Year B.B.A LL.B (Hons.) 

Structure and Duration

The-B.B.A LL.B-(Hons.) Course shall be of five years duration consisting of ten semesters. Each semester shall consist of six papers. The total number of papers in the course shall include, among other additional papers and papers in the B.B.A component, twenty Compulsory papers, six Optional papers; four papers on Practical Training and eight Honours papers, carrying hundred marks each, as prescribed by the Bar Council of India. There shall also be a Project and a Viva-voce examination in the tenth semester of the course.

Number of Seats

The number of students to be admitted to the course shall be limited to fifty

Eligibility

A candidate who has passed the Higher Secondary or Plus Two examination recognized by the Mahatma Gandhi University or any other examination recognized as equivalent there to and has secured not less than fifty percent of the marks in the aggregate in such examinations shall be eligible to be considered for admission. For SC/ST candidates, the minimum mark required is forty five percent in the aggregate.

Age Limit

The candidate should be below twenty years of age as on Ist July of the year concerned. There will be one year relaxation in the case of SC/ST candidates.

Admission0

Admission to the course will be made from the rank-list prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in the entrance test conducted by the School. Every candidate selected for admission will be interviewed by the Director of the School before granting admission. The Admissions will be made subject to the Reservation Rules followed in the University.

Entrance Test

The test shall be of two hours duration carrying hundred marks. The entrance test is intended to test the general knowledge, logical reasoning, language skills etc.

2) LL.M(Credit and Semester System)

Structure and Duration

The Two Year LL.M Degree programme offered in School of Indian Legal Thought, Post Graduate Department of law, Mahatma Gandhi University is intended to produce law teachers  and  researchers. The courses and transaction are designed to achieve these objectives.

Specializations

The specializations offered in the School are the following ones:

  • Criminal Law
  • Constitutional and Administrative Law
  • Environmental Law
  • Intellectual property Rights & Cyber Law

Number of Seats

The number of students to be admitted to the course shall be limited to twenty

Eligibility

A candidate who has passed LL B Examination of a University recognized as equivalent by Mahatma Gandhi University, securing not less than 50% of marks in the aggregate shall be eligible to be considered for admission.  Relaxation of minimum marks and reservation of seats will be according to the reservation norms followed by Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.
